The aim of event is to imbue pupils with reading-joy, as well as love and respect against the Printing house Veiters will present printerys` production unit, process of production for primary and boarding school pupils.

Regular excursion to workshop of printing house will take place starting from September 2009 and will last until the end of school year. Provided there will be approximately 2 excursions in month – one guided in Latvian, other in Russian language. These are free of charge excursions for about 15 pupils.

Within the framework of this interactive excursion pupils will be told about the long and harsh way, which polygraph has covered until the book became the way it is nowadays.  It will be possible to acquaint oneself with complicated printing art together with the guide.  Printing house is equipped with up-to-date equipment from German company Heidelberg. Close presence to printing equipment is absolutely safe not only for adults but also for children. Printing process is secured to the utmost that allows following operations in all stages of print – starting from filling paper and finishing with receipt of finished product.  

There is a chance to try some of printing operations for pupils – to wire sheets with metallic fastener, to set up a magazine by pages and to learn how to make layouts. With easy but exciting work pupils will be taught to appreciate printing production, to treat books more carefully. Pupils will visit one of sainted places in the printing house – centre of creative ideas, the place where emerging layouts turn.  

This will be the second children charity event arranged by Ltd "Veiters Korporācija". During previous time company in collaboration with Ministry of Children and Families cause made presents for boarding schools and  children’s homes – more than 5 000 educating books, about 1 000 of books were given to large and low-income families.
